Background to Evaluation

This Evaluation is taking place because the existing Revalidation Service is not fit for purpose; it was designed/developed as a Proof Of Concept and has ended up being left as a live service. There is a need to make the service more performant and consistent with the Government Digital Service; including alignment with Government Design Principles and Accessibility and Assisted Digital.

Health Education England are in the process of moving towards Cloud based deployments on Amazon Web Services. The re-architecture/redevelopment of the Revalidation Service is an opportunity to further implement this policy.
