What is the purpose/benefits of recording exams data on TIS? What’s the problem we are trying to solve?

• Trainees progression requires them to go through exams (through ARCP pannel)

• To streamline the process of tracking trainees progression

In order to record any of the Royal Colleges data on TIS, there will need to be a Data Sharing Agreement signed between the parties involved.

• Frequency of receiving/sending back the data?

• Interim solution until an API is developed

Who are going to be recording the exams data on TIS? Is there a national process for collecting this data?

• The National BI Team to facilitate this with the Royal Colleges

Does Membership type exams and Fellowship type exams need to be recorded separately?

The Royal Colleges would have mandated the data in an offline process to ensure the GMC Number and Surname combination matches to GMC LRMP (List of Registered Medical Practitioners) data before uploading this to TIS.

What happens if a trainee changes Specialty, e.g. GP changing to Psychiatry? Do we need to keep both GP Exams and RCPSYCH Exams?

• A record of the exam data to be kept up till 6 years after they’ve qualified from the Royal College exam.

Exams data where they’ve been achieved will be uploaded to TIS.

• This is covered by a separate field for ‘Exam Outcome’ that will have ‘Achieved/Not achieved’ as values
