Name | Comments |
---|---|
Lesley McGinty | Green: Go Tried to log in straight away, usually has password saved, the status bar wasn’t obvious/attractive Red: warning, stop Would still try and log in, see what happens Expected message – non operational May not have saved latest work Yellow: indecisive TIS is down, but ok for checking/reading, but not for changing. Read Only. Wants to know exactly what is working and not working so she knows if she can do her work or not. Other Comments: current process is an email chain amongst colleagues when TIS is down Suggested an introduction to the feature, if this went into production What can I do and not do? How does it affect user role? Role specific message Notification in the header of Person (like a Facebook notification) Sees a lot of Toast messages ‘Read More’ message is a good option with popup box |
Melissa Dixon | Green: compliance, working, everything ok Didn’t see the status on the log in page initially, was prompted Hovered over the status and read the message Red: Problem, TIS is down Work might not be saved Might check and not log in Yellow: problem Not all problems effect everyone, region/role specific Use parts but not all the system Upload issues Would try and log in Other Comments: ‘Read more’ on messages is a good idea Current process is email chain and then to check Teams |
Caron Owens | Green: Start Message/status wasn’t obvious to see at first, tooltip is not clear Didn’t see the need for a green status, only wants to be told when there’s errors.
Red: Not safe, error, totally down More information required for the message, is it big/small error, severity, timescale(start, finish), which parts effected. Would try and log in still
Aware of an issue and working on it Red and Yellow is too similar Prefer two options red/ green When will the issue be resolved Has my work been saved? Later saw benefit of having in-between colour )yellow/amber Other Comments: Teams is very ‘busy’, uses word of mouth when TIS is down |
Ashley Barrett | Green: ok, good to go, No problems logging in Hovered over the icon Easily noticed difference Red: something/everything wrong, everything not working Still try and log in to see what happens Log in message interpreted as user log in error rather that system error Pop up message to show change from red to green/notification of status change Yellow: half working and half not working, partial outage Would still log in Yellow is more urgent than green Would like information to be more tailored /specific Other comments: most people understand traffic lights Red toast message appears on TIS on a daily basis in ‘tech language’ More specific messages Separate error page to show list of current issues Current process when TIS is down is ‘word of mouth’ |
Zarmina Ali | Green: everything ok, all good Assume can log in, good message, noticed it easily Red: something wrong, problem, can’t access Would check the red status tooltip and attempt to log in. Yellow: log in ok, maintenance, still access the system Yellow – minor issue, Red – Major issue. Other Comments: liked the tooltip message Notification icon for the message (like facebook) |
Summary of workshop - main themes
- Green is go, operational, good
- Red is bad, warning, annoyance, TIS down
- Yellow mixed opinions, indecisive
- Size, font, colour, and layout is good on both Login and TIS interface
- Makes sense and find it useful for tooltip to appear with more info
- Most seem to not use Teams much and are informed of issues through trying and by word of mouth
- Like the idea of pop-up box with more information
- Would use tooltip if there were used to it and knew about it when it went live
- Would want more info such as estimated time
- TIS system status would be an improvement on current process and bring value
