Programme

A programme is a local instance of the training of a curriculum. The office applies to the GMC for approval to train a curriculum and have to show sign off by the college of that curriculum. When that's approved, the GMC give a number which is the programme number or GMC approval code. That code is then applied to sites which are approved to train that programme/curriculum.

Programme Number: Is the code GMC gives to show that a site is approved for training of a specialty/curriculum. In HCS case they don't need to be real but just the way the system works, we need to create one for each programme e.g HCS001...

Please Note: TIS is making some suggestions to HCS on Naming some of their specailties specialties as programmes and grouping some as curriculum under a named programme e.g A programme called Clinical Bioinformatics with the following curriculum Genomics, Health Informatics, Physical Sciences and Physics and Engineering Informatics. Though some on the list below are thes ame have the same programme name as the and curriculum .

  • Look at the Suggested names for the programme and curriculum/specialist and feel free to amend to suit what you want to see. If you want to add to Programme name STP, HSST, PTP…. please do e.g STP- Audiology

  • Need a programme number from you if you already have one , If not, you can create one e.g HCS001 ….

  • Need the NHS Occupational Code (if any) or the specialty Number for each specialty

  • Feel free to add more specialties to the list
