User needs

New systems need to be flexible to take account of future changes which may be significant - pharmacy education under review and changes likely over next 2 years and onwards. Currently small trial of ePortfolio and panel reviews (basis process on Gold Guide)
System need to take account of different workflow - regulations have not yet caught up so current sign off is by tutor and not review panel - panel review would just be another piece of evidence (i.e. this is currently opposite to ARCP). Currently no outcome form or database
Will need to take account of different environment of pharmacists working in hospitals (larger, less contact with supervisor, but more structured e.g. use traditional portfolio for workplace-based assessment) and those in community pharmacies (working closely alongside supervisor, training less structured, assessment may just be observation) across country
System will need to take account of the fact there is no national pharmacy database - records kept with individual employers (although pharmacists do have unique registration number equivalent to GMC number)
