Revalidation Pilot - status

GMC have enabled TIS access to the GMC API for both Thames Valley and East Midlands at our request. (South West decided to wait until a later point before implementing)

These have been tested, configured into production and the ETL executed to fetch trainees.


We have discovered the information we had from HEE on Intrepid views to retrieve trainee data for each local team were out of date, Hicom have refreshed the names and we will incorporate these into the next release - this includes Thames Valley and East Midlands so the PDR for these teams is awaiting the next release

ARCP discovery

Two-day visit to NE (Newcastle) - workshops/research sessions with:

  • Trainee Executive Forum - trainee representatives from specialties and special interest groups (LTFT, Equalities & Diversity)
  • Lead Employer Trust
  • School Managers/Administrators from across the board

Visit to West Midlands (Birmingham)

  • Half-day workshop with 5 managers/administrators covering a range of specialties and Foundation trainees

Assessments Design Process log is being kept up-to-date with all user research sessions for reference, with links to outputs from each session.

New Core discovery / Micro service design

Usage interviews for the South have been conducted with John Thomson. This includes Wessex, Thames valley and South West local teams.

Usage interview with Claire Le Houx scheduled for the 15/2/17 - this will the infoamtion for LaSE (three London local offices and KSS)

Royal College E-portfolio research

Telecon with Peter Taylor (Associate Dean at Yorks and Humber) to discuss the work he has done with Royal Colleges and data sharing.

Using the contact details Peter provided we have set up a meeting with the Royal College of Physicians on the 29/3/17.

Waiting for a date from the Royal College of Surgeons.

Intention is to discuss possibility of reducing duplicate input into local office systems and RC e-portfolios and look at API or interface solutions.

Digital Specialists - 4 roles

The 4 Specialist roles attracted 71 applicants.

These were all scored and shortlisted down to 19 candidates by the team.

4 Business Analysts have been interviewed, the remaining candidates are all scheduled for interviews in the next sprint
