DSP credential fields: Identity / Personal details

Background

We intend to (re) verify a user’s identity when they issue their TSS credentials by first requesting an Identity / Personal details credential from their DSP wallet to confirm their identity. We will then compare the data from that credential with some of the personal details we hold for the user in TSS (which is in turn derived from ESR), and validate their identity if these details match.

The Identity credential will be issued by the NHS. The NHS Identity Scheme looks to be most likely using Yoti as the IDSP, but the various Trusts hold inconsistent trainee details, so there is still work needed to standardise these. The current field-list is attached (

). The likely delivery date is ‘early next year’ (2023) with March being mentioned, but it’s a bit vague right now.

It was also noted that the data in the Identity credential would contain their name details as per their passport / mortgage docs - not necessarily matching that held by ESR and TIS (and for Surname, we would need to check which would provide the best match - e.g. perhaps Legal Surname, if this field is fully populated)
