Royal College E-Portfolio Integration

Each Royal College requires its trainees to use their version of e-portfolio to record their training/assessments against their programme curriculum/curricula.

Local offices also use the college e-portfolios to (in varying degrees) set up, manage and administer the education function. As NHSElocal offices are also expected to record the ARCP, Programme, Curricula and Placement information in TIS this results in duplicate input for the admins in local offices.

It has historically been agreed that the following is true for Assessments:

HEE own the ARCP process
HEE are the data owners of the ARCP data
HEE should hold the master system for managing the ARCP process.

In 2021, the former HEE, now NHSE, has led a process on behalf of 4 nation colleagues to have signed Data Sharing Agreements with each Royal College in order to reduce duplication and to collect relevant educational data from the e-portfolios. A summary of the data shared is as follows:

Round 1, 2 and 3 recruitment data from Oriel (NHSE, NIMDTA, Scotland and Wales) - Active
A continuing training data set from TIS (NHSE and NIMDTA), Turas (Scotland) and Intepid (Wales) - Active
Exam data from the Royal College e-portfolios - Planned
