MVP (at 11/12/17)
A proposed MVP for Course Booking system was proposed to the Business Managers as the ability to record the course name and dates from and to. This was not approved
We are now prioritising the re-procurement of the HICOM CBMS system for a year until a user needs analysis can be done to allow us to run procurement for a HEE Course and Event Management system.

A system to support the management and delivery of events and courses

Scope
OUT OF SCOPE for TIS - there is no current integration between CBMS and Intrepid v10.9, therefore it would be recommended to move development of a Course & Event Booking Module outside of MVP scope. This does not mean that an event management tool will not be developed (or integrated with TIS, as this is a prime candidate for a COTS implementation), just that it will not be done before the March deadline.
Options for the interim, to be coordinated by local offices and business managers:
- Use a system already in place e.g. MaxBrite or EventBrite
- Implement a new system e.g. Agora
- Spreadsheet management
Alternatively, it would be possible to implement a similar solution as with Trainer Approvals
- record course name, start date and end date against a trainee record
- record entitlements (covered here Absence Management - MVP Scenarios)
- record actuals (covered here Absence Management - MVP Scenarios)
Background
Usage Information for CBMS is shown here; there are currently 6 local offices using the Course Booking and Management System.
Implications moving forward, are as follows:
- Those 6 local offices continue to use CBMS
- All local offices move across to use CBMS
- CBMS is discontinued and the local offices using CBMS move onto a 3rd party platform (as with other local offices)
Business Managers to advise local offices of the best pathway for an interim solution.
Current Usage Description
The HICOM system (CBMS) is used by the following local offices:
- East of England - Liz Hope
- Thames Valley - Ruth Crawley
- East Midlands - Gerard O'Reilly
- Wessex - Angela Blyth
- North East - Judith Hunter
- South West - Dee Holley
As at 5/9/17 all the above (except Dee Holley) have confirmed that there is no link between the HICOM V10 system and CBMS
