2025-01-23 - Application Count Null Grades & ICM rounds

• Based on Hicom’s response have filtered out Grade is NULL from Application Count Dashboard. Current filter excludes ‘In Progress’, 'Application withdrawn before submission' and Grade IS NULL. The Vacancies will still show though with an application count of 0.

• Added additional filters to Applications Dashboard, Round Type and Derived Round Type (need a better name). Derived Round Type uses a combination of Staff Group, Offer Round Name and Specialty Name. There is a taxonomy on a spreadsheet for review. Also moved the filter view to enable filters to be more readable. If both are useful will apply to other workbooks.

• After conversation with Alice, there is an issue with the Staff Group field where it is showing recruitment offices as well as Staff Groups. To be raised with Hicom.

Questions from Data Analytics Team

• Application Count NULL Grades - These will not be counted as applications but the vacancies will still show with a NULL grade and with a 0 count.

  • Is this desirable or is this misleading and should be excluded until there are some applications? - Not required. Remove them completely --Changed SQL to inner join on APC Join

• Round Grouping for Filters:

  • Stand-alone rounds, e.g. R1- F2 Stand-alone 2025 (UKFPO), 2025 ICM ONLY Round:

    • Should these be grouped or kept separate, i.e. ‘Foundation’ and ‘Medical’ respectively?

    • Are these predictable, i.e. the same stand alone rounds will happen every offer year, or will these change each year depending on circumstance?

    • If the latter of the above, how can these be grouped? ICM is a new round done as a trial for this year. going forward round name can have a set naming convention so that we can use the offer round to group correctly

  • Regional ‘All Other Rounds’:

    • Can these/should these be grouped? Will speak to Jon and see if these need to be grouped and if so how.

    • If so, how?

• Fill Rate dashboard - 2 different views for Region-wise summary? which would be needed. Version 2 is preferred. Need to look at aggregate figures as too high currently.

• Application count dashboard - Recruitment office will be a useful filter. Add the filter before the Specialty.
